Examples of aerobic exercise include walking, jogging, aerobic dance, or bicycling. She participated in the Sea Soldier IV landing exercise in January, which was a deception maneuver suggesting an amphibious assault in Kuwait, after which on 24 February landed Marines in Saudi Arabia simply south of the Kuwaiti border. The next February, she joined different Navy ships in the Caribbean for her first of many annual "Springboard" workout routines, after which she resumed obligation at Norfolk tending the destroyers of DesFlot 4. In July 1953, the destroyer tender moved south to Charleston to render her services to the ships of the Mine Force. Tidewater completed her tenth Mediterranean deployment on 2 May 1969. She resumed tender responsibility with the warships of the Atlantic Fleet out of Norfolk and remained so occupied by means of the top of the year and into 1970. In August 1970, she obtained phrase that she could be decommissioned the following spring. Tidewater returned to Norfolk on 1 December and resumed tending destroyers till February 1954 when she headed south to take part in her second "Springboard" exercise.
