For centuries, many cultures have used heated tables for thermal consolation in chilly weather. Examples are the "kotatsu" in Japan, the "korsi" within the Middle East, and the "brasero de picon" in Spain. A heat supply goes under a desk, a blanket goes over it, and people slide their legs underneath. The micro-local weather underneath the blanket retains you comfortable, despite the fact that the area through which you end up is cold. The heated desk is a wonderful instance of our ancestors’ energy-environment friendly approach of warming: quiet heating solution individuals, not areas. Historically, glowing charcoal from the fireplace heated the space beneath the desk. While that provided adequate warmth, it also carried a major threat of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning. |
